It was the visitors who had the first real chance of the game, as McFayden turned and shot from just outside the box but his effort was dipping, but not enough as it went over the bar for a goal kick.

It was then the Swans who had a chance to open the scoring. Will Waudby floated in a free kick and Craig Disley was on hand to glance it towards goal. After a moment of panic in the area Hitchcock collected the ball and the score remained goalless.

On 25 minutes however the deadlock was broken. A corner was floated in and Billy Logan, a new signing for Bridlington, rose highest to head it past Harvey Cartwright and give the Seasiders the lead.

He almost doubled his and Brid’s tally five minutes later as a misplaced pass fell to his feet. His shot was just wide of Cartwright’s goal however.

Barton were one down on the scoreline but kept fighting. Reece Moody was next to have a shot, but it trickled wide of the goal and the Seasiders kept the lead going into the break.

There were half chances shared between the two sides at the start of the second half. Tom Waudby was introduced along with Joe Busby to try and inspire an equalizer. Tom and brother Will linked up as Will’s cross met the head of Ben Hinchliffe, but the Swans top scorer couldn’t find the back of the net.

On 74 minutes Barton were awarded a penalty following a handball in the area. Reece Moody stepped up and shot to his right, but Hitchcock got down well to pull off a nice save.

Within seconds Bridlington were on the counter attack, our defence had stopped and they sprung our offside trap. The referee waved play on and they strolled towards our goal. McFayden came up to support and tapped the ball into an open goal to seal the win for the Seasiders.

The final whistle blew and it was the visitors who left with the win. The Swans remain on zero points after four games in which they showed fight, but not enough.
