New entrance finally completed for Easy Buy Stadium

Barton Town Football Club are delighted to announce the opening of our brand new entrance to the Easy Buy Stadium!

A project which has taken two years to complete, the new entrance is at the other side of the car park, with an access road just off Pasture Road. The former entrance via Marsh Lane will now become a pedestrian only entrance to the ground.

Swans Chairman Mark Gregory said: “I have signed the contracts this week and they’ve been sent off to the appropriate people and we’re all-ready to start using it. We are doing a big opening for this week’s game against Penistone Church. You will be using the new entrance as of this week.

“It’s been two years in the making and we are so glad that the process is now completed. There’s a lengthy list of people to thank, both the Football Foundation and North Lincs Council for their generous grants. Also, Easy Buy Limited for giving us extra funding. Also, a big thank you to EC Surfacing, Cube 3, and Steve Bennett for all their work as contractors, and architects. Finally, a big thank you to Ian ‘Sid’ Durnian for assisting me in overseeing the work and for making sure everything is spot on.”

Work began in August on the entrance, with a culvert being implanted to allow us to build over the ditch which runs alongside the ground. Over the course of September and October surfacing was laid from the turn off at Pasture Road down into the car park. A kerb was also installed to allow for people to walk safely into the ground from the Pasture Road entrance. Finishing touches included signage from the road pointing to the Stadium, and the movement of a lamppost.

We would like to thank everyone who has helped with the building of the new entrance and we are looking forward to welcoming you into the ground via our new entrance.

For any visiting supporters who may need new directions; ‘Approaching from the north, Barton upon Humber is the first exit on the A15 after the Humber Bridge. Approaching from the south, it is the last exit before the Humber Bridge.

Exit the A15 and follow the A1077 into the town. At the bottom of the hill turn right at the mini-roundabout onto ‘Holydyke’ and stay on the A1077 through the Market Place (‘Old Mill’ pub on the right) towards Barrow upon Humber, past Baysgarth School (on the right), turning next left onto Falkland Way, going past Wren Kitchens (on the right).

The new entrance to the ground is at the end of Falkland Way at the junction with Pasture Road.’ The new postcode is DN18 5RL.
