The Reserves picked up their first league points since September to climb off the bottom of the HPL premier Division albeit by Goal difference with two games in hand after beating Reckitts AFC 2-0 at a cold Easy Buy Stadium on Saturday.

That victory was much needed and came at a handy time before going into a difficult festive period.

The Swans Reserves outfit gave starts to the returning Atkinson, Patchett and a first league start for Goluch.

Both sides started the game a full tilt and wanted the ball the early chances for Barton all failing to trouble the Reckitts Goalkeeper.

Dunn in the Swans goal was in fine form when at full stretch to tip over the bar from point blank 20 minutes in to keep it 0-0.

Broom was then sent racing clear and went agonisingly close to putting the Swans 1-0 up, unfortunately his effort going wide.

However the Reserves did go one up in the 33rd minute after a well worked set piece was converted by Luke Kershaw at the far post after man of the match Salter found Skipper Woodforth at the far post who nodded back across goal for the late arriving Kershaw to blast into the back of the net.

The Reserves came out all guns blazing in the opening stages of the second half with the midfield 3 of Kershaw, Woodforth and Salter getting about every first and second ball.

Finnis and Goluch proved a real handful wide for the Reckitts defence which created space for Broom, who had 2 wonderful chances saved by the Reckitts keeper.

Kian Salter’s free kick to double the lead.

The points were all but secured when 17 year old Salter scored a free kick in the 74th minute, this after Goluch was yet again hacked down in an attacking position. Salter curled home low to the keepers left with his left foot.

Barton has other efforts but a mixture of wonderful saves and woeful finishing saw the score line remain 2-0 and see the Reserves do the league double of Reckitts for the 19/20 season.
