Barton Town are pleased to announce the signing of experienced striker Danny North from Lincoln United.

Danny, 32, signs to bolster our attacking ranks and will be in the squad for the visit of AFC Mansfield to the Easy Buy Stadium on Saturday.

He boasts an impressive resume, he began his career at Grimsby Town, scoring 17 goals in 81 appearances for the Mariners over six years. He then moved to Alfreton Town, making five appearances before heading to Ireland and St Patricks Athletic. He scored 22 goals in 48 appearances before a two year spell at Sligo Rovers. 23 goals and 59 appearances later Danny moved to Shamrock Rovers for a season, scoring 12 in 32 games.

North returned to England and Cleethorpes Town in 2017. Notching up 18 goals in 49 appearances before joining Lincoln United earlier this year. He failed to make an appearance for the club before joining the Swans.

Swans boss Craig Denton spoke of North’s arrival: “I’m really pleased to have got the signature of Danny North. He’s a player who I’ve known about for some time. He has bags of experience and will add vast amounts of quality to our group. It’s important we bring players to the club from the league above, the overall depth of the squad is something I’ve been keen to work on and making it stronger. Welcome to the Swans Danny.”
