Match Preview – Handsworth (a)

11th March 2022 Off By bartontown

The Swans are heading to Olivers Mount to take on Handsworth looking to do the double over the Ambers.

Barton prevailed in the reverse fixture at the Easy Buy Stadium with a 2-1 win in October. Goals from Scott Matthews and Tom Waudby sealed the win for the Swans in a feisty affair which saw Alfie Smith sent off for the visitors.

Both sides come into this game in indifferent form, with the Swans winning one in their last five, with Handsworth winning twice.

As a result of the poor weather recently neither side has played in 11 games, with the Swans last game coming on March 2.

Handsworth are having a fine season, and sit directly above the Swans in eighth place. They’re two points ahead with three more games played.

In terms of danger men, the strike duo of Leon Howarth and Mitchell Dunne have scored 41 goals between them this season. There’s also former Swan Rikki Paylor, who’s Handsworth’s captain and always performs well in the midfield.

The Swans will be without Curtis Bateson (suspended), and will have Reserves attacking duo Joel Chapman and Jacob Sweeting in the squad to bolster Nathan Jarman’s side.
