New Signing – Ryan Musselwhite

Barton Town are delighted to welcome goalkeeper Ryan Musselwhite to the club. He joins us from Rossington Main.

Ryan, 28, is an accomplished goalkeeper who played for the club in a couple of friendlies in the 2020/21 season. He has played for the likes of Pontefract Collieries, Grimsby Borough, Bottesford Town, and more recently, Rossington.

He is the son of former Port Vale, Scunthorpe and Hull City goalkeeper Paul Musselwhite, and brings with him some excellent experience as the Swans look to put their goalkeeping issues behind them.

Ryan will be the fifth goalkeeper to play for Barton this season, with Tom Nicholson, Charlie Dixon, Ben Voase and Patrick Shaw having played inbetween the sticks this season. With Charlie out injured and Ben’s Hull City work experience ending, Swans boss Nathan Jarman has acted quickly to bring in a goalkeeper.

Jarman commented: “Delighted to get Ryan in the building. The injury to Charlie needs to be looked at and this gives us an experienced replacement to allow us to kick on and hopefully stay with the early leaders. A massive thank you to Ben Hunter at Rossington Main for allowing us to get it done so fast.”

Welcome to the Swans, Ryan.
