Swans sign Sam Cable from Goole AFC

Barton Town are delighted to announce the signing of Sam Cable from Goole AFC. The Swans fought off strong competition for the signing of the attacking player.

Sam joined Goole in 2021, and over the course of last season he scored 14 goals in 34 appearances. This season has heralded four goals from 12 appearances. He’s previously played for Pontefract Collieries, as well as Selby Town and Frickley Athletic.

With this signing the Swans have bolstered their attacking options, with Danny Trott leaving earlier in the season leaving just Ben Hinchliffe, Harrison Coley and Nathan Jarman as the only strikers in the team. Sam’s signing adds another dimension to what is already a strong Swans attack line.

Not only that but he is an accomplished penalty taker. On our last two visits to Goole, Sam has scored a penalty. He’s scored five spot kicks in total for Goole.

Swans boss Nathan Jarman commented on the signing: “I’m absolutely delighted to get Sam over the line. There were lots of teams interested in signing him, we have beaten competition from a host of teams. He’s bought into our ambition and philosophy and I’m looking forward to working with him to progress both him as a player and us as a club.”

He should be registered with the NCEL in time to be in the squad for tomorrow’s home tie against Handsworth.

Welcome to Barton Town, Sam.
