Swans sign João Rangel on loan

Barton Town are delighted to welcome João Antonio Soares Rangel to the club in a loan deal from King’s Lynn Town.

João is a winger who can also play in the ‘number 10’ position, and is a skilful player who could cause a lot of problems for opposition defences.

He’s been playing for King’s Lynn’s Under 23’s side but has previously made appearances for Pontefract Collieries and Gainsborough Trinity. He made two appearances for Albion Sports last season, with his only start coming coincidentally against the Swans in our 2-0 win at the Citadel in March.

João became something of a fans favourite at Pontefract, with his excellent displays endearing him to the Colls fans.

His career began in Norwich City’s youth setup before joining Barnsley’s Under 18’s. A loan to Mansfield Town’s Under 18’s followed. Upon the end of that loan, João had a stint in Portugal, playing for Académica U19 and Nogueirense before returning to England with Gainsborough in 2021.

João goes straight into the squad for tomorrow night’s trip to Albion Sports.
