Development Squad eliminated in Cup Quarter Final

It was a bad day at the office and one to put behind us. We started really slow and that’s not like us and we were caught on our toes.

In the 1st minute Lincoln put a dangerous ball into the box and Oscar came for it and only managed to push the ball into the feet of the Lincoln striker for an easy tap in. We dominated the rest of the 1st half, Rio was played in from a great pass from Forman but couldn’t finish a great chance.

Five minutes later Forman, who was pulling the strings in the midfield, again played a great ball out wide to Salter who took it down well and took it past three Lincoln players to get himself into a great chance and we all thought he had scored but from nowhere the Lincoln goalkeeper made an outstanding save still can’t believe he saved it. We were on top but still behind.

Second half was the same with Parker and Forman dominating the midfield and kept on feeding Rio who had chance after chance, it just wasn’t his day. As time was getting away from us we changed formation with Louie coming off and we put an extra striker on with George Ransford and all our attacking options followed.

Again we made chance after chance but Lincoln managed to hang on….just a bad day for us and lots to learn from and we focus on the league now with seven games to play. Congratulations to Lincoln on the win, they scored early and kept us at bay to see out the win and progress to the semi final .
