Matt Clayton promoted to first team for 2023/24 season
9th June 2023Barton Town are delighted to announce that Matt Clayton has been promoted to the first team for the 2023/24 season.
Matt has been a part of the Reserves setup for the last couple of seasons, and due to injuries, was drafted into the first team for the end of last season. Having impressed at right back and centre half, Nathan Jarman has rewarded Matt with promotion full time to the first team.
One of the youngest players at the club, Matt is full of strength and ability, and is more than ready for the step up. He recently won the England Schools Cup with Bishop Burton College, and will be a Swan for the 2023/24 season.
