Swans retain Ryan Musselwhite for the 2023/24 season
20th June 2023Barton Town are delighted to confirm that Ryan Musselwhite will remain with the Swans for the 2023/24 season, having committed to the club.
Ryan made 25 appearances for the Swans last season, having been signed as a mid-season replacement for the injured Charlie Dixon. Since he came in Ryan impressed with his excellent shot-stopping and commanding of his area.
He is an accomplished goalkeeper who had previously played for the club in a couple of friendlies in the 2020/21 season. His previous clubs include Pontefract Collieries, Grimsby Borough, Bottesford Town, and more recently, Rossington.
He is the son of former Port Vale, Scunthorpe and Hull City goalkeeper Paul Musselwhite, and brings with him some excellent experience as the Swans look to put their goalkeeping issues behind them.
Swans Assistant Manager Danny North commented on Ryan’s commitment to the club: “Happy that Muzzy has agreed to commit for next season. It’s an area where we have had issues so to get him tied up early is massive. He made some top class saves last year and kept us in games and won us points.”
Welcome back to the club, Ryan!
