Barton Town are delighted to announce that striker Sam Cable has returned for the 2023/24 season.

Sam signed for the Swans in 2022 joining from Goole AFC, and made 22 appearances last season, scoring six goals. A fiery and explosive player, Sam can change games in an instant with some smart play, and will be a key part of our striking options going forward.

He joined Goole in 2021, having previously played for Pontefract Collieries, as well as Selby Town and Frickley Athletic. He remains a Swan for the upcoming campaign.

I’m delighted to back at Barton and playing under Jarmo and Northy!,” Sam commented. “It’s a great group of lads to be playing with! Hopefully we can hit the ground running and be up at the top of the table where the club should be, I can’t wait to get back playing and hopefully help the lads in every way I can! Up the Swans.”

Swans boss Nathan Jarman added, “Sam is going to be huge for us this season. He’s our main striker and I can’t wait for him to thrive in the role. He’s been offered a lot more money and teams in the league above and we have still managed to keep hold of him. He looks fit, strong and raring to go. With an extended run in the team in his preferred role, I’m excited to see what he can do. All in all, delighted to keep him and looking forward to working with him again.”

Welcome back to the Swans, Sam.
