Barton Town are delighted to announce the signing of Jack Cross for the upcoming season from Bottesford Town.

Jack is a central midfielder who is tenacious on the ball and a real leader on the pitch, having captained Bottesford on numerous occasions. He scored against the Swans in last season’s dramatic 3-3 FA Cup replay at the Easy Buy Stadium.

He started at Scunthorpe United and played for the likes of Thorne Colliery and Bottesford Town before joining the Swans for this season. He scored in last night’s 4-3 friendly win over Lincoln United, sealing the win with the fourth goal.

Swans boss Nathan Jarman was happy to finally have his man, having previously tried to sign Jack for the Swans: “We’re delighted to welcome Crossy to us. I tried signing him actually first time around and then we joked about it when he played so well against us – it’s a natural fit. He’s a Scunthorpe lad, covers a few positions and will add to the group. I’m looking forward to working with him and having him contribute to a hopefully successful season.”

Welcome to Barton Town, Jack!
