Swans come from behind to defeat Garforth Town

Barton Town came from a goal behind to defeat Garforth Town and return to winning ways at the Easy Buy Stadium.
Charlie Marshall’s penalty was cancelled out by a spot kick from Tom Waudby soon before the break. Harrison Coley netted the winner ten minutes from time to secure an important three points for Danny North’s side.

It was a cagey opening 15 minutes, with both sides trying to get a foothold in the game. Garforth carving out some half chances. The visitors were given the perfect chance to take the lead when Garforth were awarded a penalty for a foul in the area. Charlie Marshall stepped up and slotted his spot kick down the middle to put Garforth in front.
The goal seemed to spur the Swans on, and were almost level a few minutes later when a Harrison Coley corner was swung in and Tom Waudby headed just over the bar.
Josh Lacey decided to try his luck from distance with a long range strike which cannoned off the cross bar. The ball dipping but just not enough for the Swans centre-half.
Five minutes before the break the Swans were awarded a penalty of their own. A Matt Clayton header was destined for the net before being handled on the line by Rinor Ejupi. The referee sent him off for denying a goalscoring opportunity. Tom Waudby stepped up and scored his 23rd goal of the season, and his 20th league goal of a stunning campaign for the forward.
The second half began much like the first, cagey, with both teams back on level terms. Harry Flatters making save after excellent save in the Garforth goal. Lacey brought his shooting boots as on the hour mark he unleashed a venomous left footed strike which Flatters got down well to.
There were half chances for both sides in the second half but it was the Swans who looked like finding a winner, and a winner they found.
A ball into the area was missed by the Swans attackers but found Sam Cable at the back post. He played it back across the face of goal and Coley was there to tap in his fourth goal of the season and ultimately, the winner.
The Swans held on and secured a big win. They move up to 14th and with games still in hand, look in a good position.
