Club Statement – Danny North

Barton Town Football Club have decided to part ways with Swans boss Danny North.

Danny has been part of the management team for the last three years, firstly as assistant to Nathan Jarman, then for the second half of this season as manager. In that time Danny helped bring silverware to the club with the NCEL League Cup win in 2021/22.

When Jarman left the club in October, North stepped up and took on the role, and was tasked with stabilising the team. He steered the Swans to a 14th place finish, during a stop-start second half of the season due to the adverse weather conditions.

While in charge, North gave opportunities to reserve team players, putting trust in youth and development. Matt Clayton became a mainstay in the Swans defence, while Joel Chapman was given a chance, and scored his first senior team goal, picking up two man of the  match awards in the process. He also brought Shakeel Brown and Will Mitchell in on loan from Grimsby Town, both flourishing during their time with the Swans.

Danny leaves with the club’s very best wishes going forward, and we sincerely thank him for all of his efforts while with the Swans.
