Charity Football Match to be played at Easy Buy Stadium
31st March 2023The Easy Buy Stadium will play host to a special charity football game in May in memory of Jeff Barmby and in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Jeff’s grandsons, Matt and Ben Hinchliffe, will be putting together teams including a select few ex-professional players, with the match being played here in Barton.
The match is being played in memory of local footballing legend Jeff Barmby. To some Jeff needs no introduction, he made his name at Scarborough FC, scoring 156 goals in 358 appearances for the club over a six year spell. He won the club’s Player of the Year award in 1971 and was a three-time FA Trophy winner.
Jeff sadly passed away in July 2021, having been a regular at the Easy Buy Stadium to watch grandson Ben play for the Swans.

The game will kick off at 1pm on Saturday 6 May at the Easy Buy Stadium with the bar and snack bar open for refreshments on the day. There will also be a raffle.
Admission: Adults £3 and Children FREE.
Come on down for what promises to be an excellent game of football, with some brilliant players on display as we hope to raise funds for charity and remember a brilliant and deeply missed man.
