In a game that didn’t see Reckitts record a single shot on target the Reserves dominated proceedings for the vast majority of the game with Clay Bryant and Scott Meffen marshalling the back four once again.
The real battle was happening in the middle of the park in the opening stages with skipper Robin Woodforth showing his aerial presence.
The Swans took a deserved 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute through man of the match Harry Finnis as he ran on to a delightful through ball from Elliot Sampson and curled home with his effort.
Barton didn’t have to wait long after the start of the second half to double their lead when Liam Coleman found himself inside the Reckitts box and neatly put away his effort in the 48th minute.
From that moment on Barton seemed in full control of the game only having to deal with a handful of deep free kicks in the Swans final third. Most success coming down the left hand flank with Kian Salter and Coleman teaming up well, the latter having a couple of fine chances to improve on the scoreline but for the bar and ‘keeper.
Forward Michael Broom had a powerful header saved ten minutes from time but The Reserves managed the game out to seal the first 3 points of the season, making that 4 points from 9.
The Reserves have another busy week with two home games on the bounce as they host Sculcoates Amateurs on Thursday 7:30 ko and North Ferriby Reserves on Saturday 2 ko both at The Easy Buy Stadium.
