Craig Disley is back for another season!
3rd July 2020Barton Town are delighted to announce that Craig Disley has decided to re-sign for the Swans for another season.
The Grimsby Town legend signed for the club last season and made 24 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and was also our club captain.
Disley needs no introduction to the local area, starting his playing career at Mansfield Town in 1999 he made 141 appearances for the Stags before signing for Bristol Rovers in 2004. He made 203 appearances before joining Shrewsbury Town in 2009 before his move to Grimsby Town in 2011.
In a six year spell with the Mariners, Disley endeared himself to the Grimsby fans, scoring goals at Wembley and captaining them to play-off final wins. He made 234 appearances and is still very highly regarded by Grimsby fans.
After having played for Alfreton Town and Cleethorpes Town, Disley signed for us at the beginning of last season. He was instrumental in midfield and a leg injury ruled him out for a couple of months before the season ended. But he’ll be raring to go again once the season starts.
Welcome back Craig!
