A bright start from the home side saw East Hull’s keeper the busiest early on, Gibson and Nichols at the heart of the East Hull defence keeping them in the game.

That being said, East Hull were unlucky when Whiting’s effort deflected and hit the top of the Barton bar before going out for a corner. Midway through the first half East Hull took a deserved lead when Gibson was allowed time and space at the back post for a free header, that was quickly followed up by another swift counter attacking move which saw Dunn get down and save well.

Goluch could and probably should have equalised on the break but his heavy touch took the ball away from him.

The second half was all about East Hull’s man Vickers as he punished not one but two errors in quick succession to put East Hull in a comfortable position with strikes in the 55’ and 60th minutes, the second a lovely timed run and finish to match his confidence.

Salter pulled a consolation back in the 80th minute , before deep into added time East Hull added a fourth to wrap up a convincing win as former Swans man Stephen Cooper had a free header from a corner go in.

The Reserves have one more pre season game now against Grimsby Boro Res on Thursday night, under the lights kick off 7:30pm before their league campaign gets up and running against Westella & Willerby on the 19th September.
