Match Preview – Albion Sports (H)

11th April 2022 Off By bartontown

The Swans end their league campaign with the visit of relegation-threatened Albion Sports to the Easy Buy Stadium.

Barton are looking to seal seventh spot in the league table with Albion needing a point to stay up. Relegation rivals Hemsworth Miners Welfare have finished their campaign and are currently on the same points and goal difference as Albion. However Hemsworth are ahead on goals scored.

In the reverse fixture played just a couple of weeks ago, the Swans cruised to a 2-0 win with goals from Tom Waudby and Scott Matthews.

Form

The Swans are ending the season in mixed form, having won two, drawn one and lost two in their last five games. Albion have interestingly the same form in their last five games. Including an impressing win over Silsden last time out.

Who to Watch?

Despite their league position Albion have a host of impressive players. Mohammed Qasim up front is a real handful. Amir Berchil is in hot form having scored twice at the weekend. The Basi brothers are rocks in defence and the Swans have to be at our best to beat them.

Team News

There are no fresh injury concerns for the final league game of the season. Ben Hinchliffe could start having scored on his return from injury at the weekend. The Reserve team duo of Kadey Phillips and Jacob Sweeting are likely to be involved again.
