Under 8’s & 9’s continue to impress with more positive results
11th October 2022Barton Town Under 8’s/9’s Manager Paul Roberts recounts the weekend’s action for his young Swans sides with both continuing to impress.
Under 8’s
The team were in league action on Saturday morning and our opponents were Dale Park from Winterton. A fabulous morning’s work on the pitch from our youngest Swans, these players have listened so well at training recently and then put into practice all they have learnt. We are challenging the players to really step up and learn new skills, positions and the way they move the ball intelligently across the football pitch. We are asking them to really think about the game and where their teammates are before making the pass clinical and destructive. Boy they nailed it all and some and all with great big smiles on their faces. Starting line up was Woody (GK) Charlie Burton (DF) Noah Richardson (LW) Cole Foster (RW) Jac Roberts (ST) after the first quarter Eli Crosby and Miguel joined the game and had instant impacts. Not involved today Olle Wadham and Lilah Cox…Cole Foster was Manager’s Player of the Match, Noah Richardson Parent’s Player of the Match. Well done team great togetherness and work rate, and fabulous rewards.
Under 9’s
We were back at home this weekend after three weeks on the road…similar story to the U8’s we are really pushing and challenging this group of footballers to learn and do things on the pitch that they haven’t done before. They are like sponges at training that then releases when we play the match. I couldn’t be prouder of this group of boys we are really expressing what we can do as a team and also individually. We are playing with such confidence currently and again with big smiles, top top stuff young Swans…Starting line up Tommy Cox (GK), Seb Eggleton (CB), Olly Brown (CB), Callum Massey (RW), Oakley Deakins (LW), Harry Hatcliffe (CM), and Jac Roberts (ST). First change from the bench Alfie Goodley, Oscar Barnes, Reg Cole. Unavailable this week Jacob Thompson and Benjamin Hanks. Olly Brown this week’s Man of the Match with a solid performance at the back along with chipping in with some sublime finishing. Again well done team super stuff once again.
