Reserves bring in Ryan Short
1st November 2022Barton Town are delighted to welcome experienced midfielder Ryan Short to the club. He joins the Reserves squad from local neighbours Appleby Frodingham.
Following the departure of Alex Hazell to Crowle Colts, Reserves boss Stef Wolkowski has acted fast to bring in a replacement. Ryan is a tenacious player with plenty of experience both at Lincs League level but also boasts some experience from the NCEL.
Wolkowski commented: “This is my third season of trying to secure the signature of Ryan and his signing has come at a perfect time. For him to choose us over three local clubs, some in a higher division, is testament to the set up we have at Barton.
“Shorty is a player you build teams around and with the experience he brings, he will support others around him. He’s that player you worry about when facing him so it’s nice to not have that problem anymore. We are absolutely delighted to have him with us and can’t wait for him to start his journey at Barton.”
Ryan joins Harry Burnett-Haynes in coming to the club from App Frod. Both are cup-tied for this weekend’s County Junior Cup game at Tetney but will be making their debuts at Cleethorpes Town Reserves a week on Saturday.
Welcome to Barton, Ryan!
