Under 8’s

An away fixture at Park Tigers on a very sticky, heavy pitch was our Saturday morning’s fixture. We adapted our game to the conditions and got to our work quickly. The skills, the passing, the link ups, the  communication, the hard press right out from the back outstanding from my young Swans. A shift put in by all and an exhibition of what the players have been learning recently, hopefully you can see this from the video recently recorded on the post.

Todays Manager’s MoM or Swan of the Match, as it has been renamed, Cole Foster, he’s been knocking on the door of this award for the last few weeks, but today he absolutely nailed it, fantastic skills, some super balls into the box and he gets his goal which makes me so pleased for him…well done Cole.

Parents’ MoM – Lilah Cox, Lilah played different positions through the match, skill full and this is the key bit showed some great strength to command both in and out of possession. Well done Lilah top day…

Squad: Cole Woodford (GK) Charlie Burton (DF) Eli Crosby (DF) Cole Foster (RW) MoM, Noah Richardson (LW) Lilah Cox (RW) Miguel Freitas (LW) Jac Roberts (ST)

Our Under 9’s observing the minute’s silence.

Under 9’s

We travelled to Grimsby Borough on Sunday afternoon. After showing our respects pre kick off with a minute’s silence we then came out the blocks quickly, we have been doing a lot of work recently about upping the tempo in games when needed, so really moving the ball quickly around the midfield areas and causing problems by delivering fast accurate balls into the box. We nailed this today as well as being incredibly strong both on the ball and when attempting to win the ball back. We have spoken a lot recently about everyone’s responsibility to win the ball back and put the challenges in, we have a team of defenders and attackers we don’t and shouldn’t just rely on a couple of individuals to get us out of trouble. We nailed this.

Special mentions; Extra work away from training and sheer determination from our Captain to deliver for his team Barton Town FC is something else, well done Sebby.  Oak’s finishing WoW what an exhibition of striking the football. Harry on the right wing they can’t touch you mate…simple, pace and accuracy, Jakey T worked so hard in the centre of midfield to win the ball back, Reggie’s skill and passing bossing the midfield just like Keano. And everyone else EVERY player delivered today.

Swan of the Match Jac Roberts.…Hard for me to choose especially when he’s my lad so he tends to get over looked.. but he’s had an excellent game today, 2 goals, the second sublime striking of the football. The link ups the passing the positioning for a striker brilliant.. well done Robbo I’ve seen you deliver week in week out for the U8’s team but best game you’ve played for a while for the U9’s top No.10 performance.
