Barton Inclusive FC, with four teams playing in the South Yorkshire Ability Counts League, have made an incredible start to the season!

BIFC – Hull U16’s

Under the management of Chris Newby, BIFC – Hull U16’s were promoted from the Championship division up to the Premiership after one round of fixtures, in which they took home two impressive wins. The Premiership division, a difficult challenge, has proved tough however each player has made incredible progress with Newby, supported by young volunteer Heather. The U16’s are supported by lead BIFC – Hull volunteer Jo Newby, and a fantastic group of parents and carers. The U16’s new team kit is proudly sponsored by KCOM: KCOM | KCOM

BIFC – Hull Vikings

Vikings, led by an impressive coaching team of Joe Farrah, Mikey Barnes and Marc Cooper, are sitting comfortable at the top of the 5-a-side League One table after four games. Vikings have an impressive group of young players, who have taken to competitive football with passion, desire and commitment. The aim is to gain promotion and they are on track.

Inter Barton FC

Inter, having achieved promotion last season, have taken the 5-a-side Premiership by storm and currently sit second in the league after four games and still remain undefeated. Inter are managed by James Branford, who’s coaching style has helped mould his team into a strong, fierce group with a fun and enjoyable culture where every player plays their part. Inter have excellent backroom staff in Lauryn Taylor Greenwood, who is pivotal in her support role on match days.

Barton Athletic FC

Athletic, having gained promotion last season from the 7-a-side Championship, currently sit second in the league just one point behind the league leaders. Athletic is managed by Richard Day, who’s player management skills have transformed his team into one of the strongest within the whole league. The team is supported by volunteer Aaron Walton, who also produces their much-loved match reports. Athletic are proudly sponsored by Easy Buy: Pay Outright or Spread The Cost – Easy Buy

Thank you to our volunteers!

After such a brilliant start to the season for all BIFC teams, it’s really important to recognise the commitment and contribution of their volunteers, with Club Chairwoman Sophie Bartup commenting:

“Our four competitive teams have had exceptional starts to their seasons, and I believe that’s down to our inspiring and dedicated team of volunteers who work exceptionally hard to provide a platform for their players to express themselves as footballers. Chris Newby, in his first season in management, has really set the standard. He’s currently doing his FA Level Two, of which I know he’s loving. The Vikings have a superb trio of coaches in Joe, Mikey and Marc and just being in and around this team is fun and exciting. They’re a joy to watch, and we are all behind their promotion push. As we know, both James Branford and Richard Day are playing in higher divisions this season and are already competing at the top of their tables. Whilst our coaches are steering our teams to success, we wouldn’t be able to operate without our backroom staff and I’d like to say a special thanks to Jo Newby, Jayne Dowse, Aaron Walton, Seb Cooper (an aspiring young volunteer) and Lauryn Taylor Greenwood. We also have two wonderful young people in Tilly and Daisy who are doing a remarkable job in Hull, helping our coaches.”

Barton Inclusive FC would also like to thank all the volunteers within the league, with special mention to Mike and Colin.
