On Sunday the U9’s travelled to Catenaccio FC in Cleethorpes, a dig deep then a bit deeper kind of day! It was a very physical contest between both teams in cold and wet conditions.

The boys stood up to the test though, throughout the game it was very close, some lovely passing in places, link ups and runs forward. Our defence stood up strong and Tommy (GK) pulled off some amazing saves from close range with power. Our line was led by Jac as striker who got us off to a perfect start with an early well taken goal, he then continued to ask questions of Catenaccio’s defence and ‘keeper who continued to pull off some good saves.

Oaks continued to out skill on the left wing and with some lovely runs and sweeping through balls was dangerous throughout. Benjamin came on and continued to cause problems with his running with the ball and crisp shooting, and for this he was Sunday’s Swan of the Match.

Well done all, one game left now this year to an absolutely amazing season this group of young talented footballers have had we are at home to Grimsby Boro on Sunday before the leagues restructure for a January re start.

Match Squad; Tommy Cox (GK), Seb Eggleton (CB) (C), Olly Brown (CB), Alfie Goodley (CM), Oakley Deakins (LW), Harry Hatcliffe (RW), Jac Roberts (ST)….Reggie Cole, Callum Massey, Benjamin Hanks.
