There were two changes for the Swans, Scott Matthews and Nathan Hotte returned in place of Danny Chapman and the injured Harrison Coley. Brooklyn Dennis was in line to make his home debut from the bench.

The game couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start when the Swans conceded from a corner after just two minutes. Darwin King getting goal side of his man to prod the ball into the back of the net, giving Eccleshill an early lead.

Tom Waudby had the Swans’ first chance of the game when brother Will swung in a cross for Tom to head, unfortunately he couldn’t get it on target and it rolled out for a goal kick.

The first half was lacking any cutting edge, neither side could assert their dominance on the game, and neither goalkeeper had a shot to save. Sam Cable had a golden chance to equalize when a cross was deflected and fell to the Swans striker six yards out. He headed over the bar.

At the break Swans centre-half Fraser Papprill had an injury complaint and was replaced by Henry Cook.

Ten minutes in and the Swans were turning the screw, James Playford volleyed just over from the edge of the box. From the resulting goal kick Eccleshill broke, with Josh Smaller pulling off an excellent goal-saving block.

Just after the hour mark the visitors were reduced to ten men when an off the ball incident was spotted by the linesman, and Emmanuel Amole was sent off. The Swans had even more incentive to equalize and get something out of the game.

Moments later Sam Cable was played in who shot low under the ‘keeper to equalize, but the linesman ruled it out for offside. Cable ran from behind while a player uninvolved in play was in an offside position.

With 20 minutes to go the Swans were awarded a spot kick following a handball in the area. Tom Waudby stepped up and despite the ‘keeper getting a hand to it, the ball rolled into the back of the net for Waudby’s 12th goal of the season.

Try as they might the Swans couldn’t find a winner, there was a melee in the area which the Swans couldn’t put in the back of the net, and at full time the game ended in a draw.
