New Barton Town boss Danny North has appointed Peter Winn as his Assistant Manager.

Danny, stepping up to replace Nathan Jarman last week, has chosen Winn as his Assistant. Pete made 12 appearances for the Swans in the 2019-20 season under Dave Ricardo and Craig Denton.

Peter’s footballing CV is impressive. He started his career at Scunthorpe United and made four appearances in the Championship for the Iron. Loan spells at Northwich Victoria, Barrow and Gateshead followed before a move to Stevenage in 2011. He made 28 appearances in League Two as the club won promotion to League One.

Two further loan spells followed, at Cambridge United and Grimsby Town before signing for Macclesfield Town in 2012. He was part of the Cleethorpes Town side which won the NCEL League Cup in 2016. The Owls then went on to win the NCEL Premier Division in 2017, along with the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy. Peter played at Wembley too in the FA Vase final for Cleethorpes.

He signed for Barton in 2019 under Dave Ricardo, making his debut in a 3-2 FA Cup win over Carlton Town.

Swans boss North commented on Winn’s arrival: “I’m happy to bring Pete into the club, he’s someone I know very well and is eager to get into coaching. He has had a very good career at a good level and knows his stuff. It was important to get somebody who is on the same page as myself which will hopefully help us be a success.”

Welcome back to the club, Peter!
