Welcome: Lee Thompson
26th October 2022Barton Town are delighted to announce the appointment of Lee Thompson as Reserves Team Coach. Lee comes on board having left his position as manager of Appleby Frodingham this week, with Stef Wolkowski keen to add some experience to his coaching staff.
Lee joins assistant Chris Rodgers, and current coaches Samir Own and Sam Wood in Wolkowski’s setup, adding some vital experience and knowledge.
Wolkowski commented on the appointment: “We are delighted to welcome Lee to the club. Myself and Lee have always had a good relationship in football and that stems back from me managing his lad Ryan at Under 19’s level.
“For us as a management team you couldn’t wish for someone of his experience, passion, desire and likability to come available. We had to act quickly, numerous local clubs showed interest like ourselves, which is testament to Lee.
“We are so lucky to have him and for me and (Chris) Rodgers, this is perfect timing.”
