Academy Roundup – Under 8’s and 9’s continue to work hard
27th February 2023Under 8’s
The U8’s travelled to Park Tigers on Saturday and were ready to get back into league action after the short break. They just did that from the off with some lovely play, we managed to get the match in a comfortable position fairly early on and after that is was time for real expression from the players both individually and as a team. The team just amazes me week in week out by constantly upping their games through what they have learnt in their development session. Very exiting times ahead for this group of footballers.
Parents MoM – Oakley Todd, Managers MoM – Olle Wadham both had a tremendous 2nd half of the match with some individual goals scored but most importantly they both stood strong, battled hard and both got their rewards with the worldies… Well done both of you 🦢

Under 9’s
The U9 team found themselves at home this weekend against Grimsby Borough. It was a tough game with both sides very equally matching throughout the game. There was some great football on show, some nice link ups starting to happen, creativity to carve out opportunities and a good work rate. We asked the question constantly of the boro keeper but he kept pulling out some great saves together with us rocking the woodwork a couple of times any other day we would of got our rewards. Performance wise good, still work to do but we are heading in the right direction.
Man of the Match – Buddy Hillary, best game he’s played and he’s very much announced himself on the scene, with his new team… solid in the middle of the park, creative, strong and worked well on the attack, on another day a couple of goals too.. well done Buds 🦢
Squad; Tommy Cox (GK), Seb Eggleton, Harry Hatcliffe, Buddy Hillary , Oakley Deakins. Alfie Goodley (C), Kian Lally, Callum Massey, Reggie Cole, Olly Brown.
