The game was in doubt as the generator which powers the floodlights wasn’t working properly. The referee and two teams agreed to delay the kick off until 3:15pm. It was finally underway as the floodlights came on.

The Swans had the first real chance of the game on 13 minutes when the Mansfield ‘keeper pulled off a magnificent save. The ball fell to Waide Fairhurst who struck on the half volley, the ‘keeper stopped it and parried with a fantastic save to keep the score goalless.
Midway through the first half Barton were ahead. The Swans broke through Jack Richardson, who ran in on goal and slotted the ball past the ‘keeper to score his first goal since signing from Cleethorpes Town.
Ten minutes later and an incredible solo run from Taron Hare resulted in Barton doubling their lead. He ran from centre half, taking the ball a good 60 yards. His shot was blocked, his second effort cleared, but it was headed away. Hare volleyed the ball and it flew into the bottom corner with an expert finish from the defender.
A largely uneventful second half, with a few feisty moments thrown in, the game was thrown into doubt as the floodlights dimmed for the second home game in a row. After a stoppage of around ten minutes, they were back on and we were ready to continue.
72 minutes in and another fantastic solo goal, this time by Hinchliffe as he notched his 18th goal of the season with a fine low finish into the bottom corner to round off a fantastic game for Barton.
A fine all round performance from the Swans who move up to 15th in the league and are now unbeaten in six games with three wins and three draws.
