A nice bright Sunday morning in Gainsborough welcomed us but a pudding of a pitch and long grass wasn’t going to make for a passing game but how wrong can I be.

We came out immediately dominating play with some brilliant interchange of passing between the back line/midfield and the fast moving forward players, especially Leo Bradding on the inside right position, caused problems all morning and was worthy of the lads’ nomination of Man of the Match.

Cole Hodson and Jay Holtby in midfield created countless chances also to our front players and on another day we could have gone in six or seven up instead of 4-2.

Their two first half goals came from a miss hit corner that squirmed in at the near post and a right sided cross that looped in over Euan our goalkeeper which flattered them as we continued to dominate the first period.

2nd half started in a manner I personally took great delight as we kept the ball well and started taking chances Harvey Robinson especially scoring 4 second half goals was pleasing having missed some in the first half.

We invited them to attack us as our intensity dropped slightly during the 2nd half and they were the worthy of scoring a couple more but as they got better so did we and finished them off with the final score of 9-4.

Special mention to our goalkeeper Euan Braddish who bravely got down to the feet of an attacking player got both hands on it but their attacker continued and banged Euan on the head and ended his match but Dylan more than deputised effectively.

We move on now to a far more capable side in Marshall Sports away next Sunday.
