The 0-0 draw was a real blank in the opening 45 on a difficult surface and narrow pitch. A couple of long range efforts from Scott Meffen and Elliot Sampson saved well by the Hull United stopper.
Hull United’s best chance of the half came from Mike Standsfield who rose highest from a long Dennant throw to head just over the bar.
The second half was much more entertaining and Barton could have nicked the three points as it was a share of the spoils it would be.
Bryn Everitt replaced the injured skipper for the day Clay Bryant and Kian Salter replaced Liam Coleman who worked his socks off, the two clear opportunities falling to the Finnis brothers who both saw efforts go agonisingly side of the post.
The moment of the day for the Reserves though was an 88th minute substitute which saw Ben Herrick introduced for the first time since his horror leg break last December much to his credit and hard work. Welcome back Ben.
The Reserves now turn to cup action at home to Division One outfit Driffield EI at the Easy Buy on Saturday.
