Match Preview – Albion Sports (a)

23rd March 2022 Off By bartontown

The Swans are looking to record back to back wins for the first time since November with a trip to relegation-threatened Albion Sports.

Remarkably the first meeting between the two sides this season despite being in the closing stages of the campaign. Barton are looking to build on a hard-fought 2-1 win over Thackley at the weekend. Meanwhile Albion will be looking to bounce back after a 2-0 home loss to relegation rivals Hemsworth.

Form

The Swans have won three of their last five, with losses to Lincolnshire rivals Grimsby and Winterton in the two previous midweek fixtures. Albion however have just one win to their name in the last five, and are in need of points to survive.

Who to Watch?

Despite their league position, Albion have a host of players capable of causing damage. Mohammed Qasim is a dangerous winger who scored against the Swans earlier in the season for Silsden. Carl Stewart is a big forward who is a real handful for defenders.

Team News

Mike Emery is still out with a knee injury, while Ben Hinchliffe could be back after missing the Thackley game due to an injury picked up against Winterton. Tom Davie nears full fitness and the Reserves duo of Jacob Sweeting and Joel Chapman will continue to travel with the first team.
