Reserves narrowly lose out to table-topping Grantham

Barton Town’s Reserves narrowly lost out 1-0 to top of the table Grantham Town Academy.
It took a late goal from Freddie McGrady to seal the win for the visitors, with the Swans having a goal disallowed. A tough game for the Swans but Swans boss Stefan Wolkowski was happy with the way the side played and the progress they are showing on the pitch.
“They had one chance and took it, we had 10 and we didn’t but that’s not a reflection on how well we played it just shows these games are won with fine margins. We’ve come a long way and 4 months ago, we wouldn’t have been able to compete with the top sides like them, but now we are ready. Losing Ewan Train on the stroke of half time hurt us and we will make sure we get his hamstring sorted asap. It’s Sleaford next, we are ready and prepared to get 3 points. This result stays in our mind for when we welcome Grantham back in 3 weeks for the cup quarter final, we will be ready.”
