Reserves held to draw by Sleaford

Barton Town Reserves were stunned by a late fightback as Sleaford scored twice in the last five minutes to secure a 2-2 draw at the Easy Buy Stadium.

Nonetheless the result moves the Swans into tenth in the Lincs League table with 40 points. With no game on Saturday, the next test for Stefan Wolkowski’s side is a rematch with Grantham Town Academy in the Challenge Cup.

“For 80 minutes we were in complete control, not our best performance but it was safe. Just shows how quickly a game can change even at 2-0 up. But we said after, it’s still a point and it was not going to overshadow Cole and Seb’s debuts for their home town club. Both looked the part, both showed to why they have a big few years ahead of them and for our lads to back them and trust them the way they did shows the togetherness. Week off will do us good and we will be prepared as ever to do everything we can to get into the semi finals of the Challenge Cup.”
