Barton Town are delighted to reveal that Paul Roberts has been appointed the club’s Youth Development Manager.

In a slight reshuffle to the structure within the club, Paul will oversee the club’s youth development up to the age of 16. From there Stefan Wolkowski will take over and work with Development Manager Simon Burnett to integrate the players into adult football.

Creating a clear pathway from youth to adult football in Barton is a long term aim for the club, and Roberts buys into this and will look to help create that pathway.

“I feel incredibly honoured and proud to be asked to support youth football here at Barton Town FC within my new role as Head of Youth Development,” said Roberts.

“This football club has fantastic ambitions of growth and success and it’s so pleasing that they see the youth being a key enabler moving forward. My overall objective will be to support the clubs strategy moving forward by creating a youth development academy that is fitting for a semi-pro football club as Barton Town is, creating a clear pathway from youth to adult football.

“I am incredibly excited to get started in this new role working with the existing youth team players, coaches and managers already established at the club whilst we also look to grow our capabilities and capacities further.

“I would like nothing better than seeing the players we have nurtured and developed from a young age pull on a Swans first team shirt in the years to come. Up the Swans.“

With the club’s youth setup ever-expanding, Paul will work with the other youth managers to ensure that players are happy, are developing, and are enjoying their football.

Congratulations on the new role Paul, and wishing the best of luck.
