The early signs of the game were good when Nathan Patchett delivered a cross into the danger area with zip and curl unfortunately Winn of Walkington was first to it.

O’Callaghan went close next after he burst from deep midfield, his left footed effort just the wrong side of the post.

The back four of Everitt, Kershaw , skipper Bryant and Patchett kept up to their work and was cleaning up any Walkington attacks ..as the game sat in the balance in the opening half hour.

Jack Finnis was having the beating of his man on an often basis, and he was the provider for the opening goal of the game in the 37th minute after getting to the by line he pulled the ball across the six yard box for Kian Salter to add the finishing touch from close range to give the Swans a deserved lead at the break.

Barton started lively again, and dominated the early parts of the second half keeping the ball for large periods.
O’callaghan having to be replaced by debutant Chris McConnell following a 50/50 challenge early on into the second half.

Still Jack Finnis and younger brother Aaron the other side were having success down each flank and Aaron was unlucky not to get on the end of another teasing ball across goal form Jack.

Walkington won their first corner of the game in the 65th minute which allowed them to send up the big centre half’s of Winn and Jonny Ricardo , brother of former first team manger David. That corner was met by the former who’s effort hammered of the bar and away to safety much to the relieve of the crowd and Barton.

Barton broke up the other end and Finnis again was provider, following more hard work from the midfield paring of the returning Rodgers and ever hard working Woodforth he was sent down the left flank, pulled the ball back to the late arriving McConnell who smashed the ball home from 18 yards to double the Swans lead in the 73rd minute and get a goal on debut.

Goluch replaced Aaron Finnis, and he was next to go close cutting in on his left foot he forced the Walkington keeper into a fine save, having had a difficult afternoon from the loyal Swans supporters behind his goal.

McConnell then opened up his body , and got a snap shot away which looked set to be heading into the top corner, but just avoided the target.

The Swans and Man of the Match Jack Finnis rounded of a very good performance when he curled home a delightful free kick from 25 yards which sailed into the top corner in the 86th minute and seal all three points and a clean sheet for Barton.
