Under 15’s lose out to Bottesford MHM

Looking for a better performance than our first game which we lost 1-7. We started really bright and it was pleasing to see us trying to play football and match a very good Bottesford side.

After 10 minutes a good build up from Bottesford saw them take the lead which was against the run of play. We continued to press and was awarded a free kick 30 yards out, Ashton took the free kick which deceived the keeper because of the wind and looked like it was straight in but Joe was on hand to make sure and level the score.

We took hold of the game and were unlucky not to increase our score but just couldn’t find the finishing touch, Bottesford broke with 2 minutes to go but a late tackle in the area gave them a penalty to make it 1-2 at half time.

Trying to get back into the game in the second half took its toll on the team who ran out of energy and Bottesford ended up scoring five more goals to make it 1-7. A score that flattered Bottesford as it was a closer game then the score line says, both teams had late chances and Ben kept the score line 1-7 with a couple of late superb saves.

Very pleased overall with the performance And I’m sure our fitness will improve, what we do need is some additional players to give us a bit more balance and experience.
