Swans secure double signing

Barton Town are delighted to announce the double signing of Alfie Usher and Callum Walmsley.

Alfie signs from Hall Road Rangers and is dual registered with Cleethorpes Town. He is an attacking midfielder/forward and at just 18 years old, has a lot of potential. He made just one start for Hall Road in their 1-0 loss at Winterton Rangers in January as well as a couple of substitute appearances. He began his career at Grimsby Town before joining Hull City. While at Cleethorpes he made his Northern Premier League debut against Sutton Coldfield Town.

Callum is a Barnsley FC Academy player who joins us on work experience for the next 28 days. This deal can be extended if it suits all parties. Callum is also 18 and is a central defender. He comes in to ease our shortage of defenders at the moment, with Chris Salt and Robbie Start currently out injured. The towering centre-back made a seamless transition to competitive football with his no-nonsense approach to the game and ability to play out from the back.

Both signings should be involved at the weekend for Saturday’s visit of Staveley Miners Welfare to the Easy Buy Stadium.

Welcome both to the club.
